"The overall experience was OK. One frustration: lack of hot water. Around 11PM the water was just warm, not good enough for a shower. I called the front desk and I was told that unfortunatelly, nothing can be done because the "technician" was not available. I would like to think that the incident was only a technical difficulty, and not a regular occurance. You might want to further consider this issue."

"Nice, decent, affordable hotel (great cheap parking!). But the pool was only open til 6 on weekends and the room we got had no alarm clock...not that we complained."

"When we checked in, we were given our room number and key, but never told where to go. Never having been there before, we went to the main elevator banks in the main lobby. We went to the 3rd floor and couldn't find our room. We had to go back down to ask where the room was and only then were we told that there was another elevator bank in the back.
The other issue that was disappointing was the pool. I purposely researched on-line the hours of the pool. I found out it was open on Saturday from 1-7pm and Sun 9-6pm. We had gone to the museum on Saturday and made sure we were back by 6:00 so the kids could swim for an hour. When I called down to the desk to find out where the pool was, I was told in a very unfriendly manner that it closed at 6:00! My husband called back to explain that we read it closed at 7pm and he too received the same annoyed tone. Our children, ages 7 & 5 were completely disappointed. The pool was the selling feature for this hotel so it really did make me angry. We couldn't use the pool on Sunday because we had to check out early to visit the other attractions on our itinerary before leaving the city that night."

"I absolutly loved this hotel. My Boyfriend, his brother and girlfriend, and I went to New York to do some sightseeing, and shopping. This hotel was perfectly located to all of the things we wanted to do. We were able to walk from Penn Station to the hotel and we were also in walking distance of Times Square, Rockefeller center, central park, and lots of shopping!! I would recomend this hotle to anyone who is going to the city for a vacation, I am also planning on staying there when I go back. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!! And as long as you dont peel the wallpaper off of the wall the manager Bob is GREAT!! :)"

"At the time of booking, I was given the TOTAL I would be charged to stay at The Skyline...$588.09, but, just to be absolutly certain I called and talked to someone personally at the front desk, and asked them what was the TOTAL AMOUNT I needed, I was told $588.09. I wasn't even told that I would have to have a credit card for this stay. Luckily I brought one with me because my rental car company required one. It has a $1000 dollar limit on it and $350 was used for the car. That left $650 on the card, more than enough to cover the TOTAL AMOUNT OF $588.09, just in case I needed it. However at the time of check-in I was told I had to have a credit card to cover the full amount of $727 and some change in order to check-in to cover the stay and a $150 deposit. Gee! a deposit now all of a sudden! I have no problem with deposits...I understand that they are part of the business, JUST TELL ME IF THERE IS ONE!!!!!! Also, how about other options? The extremley rude woman behind the desk would not even discuss anything but a credit card for the full amount...despite the THOUSANDS I had on me in cash and travelers checks. If this is your policy FINE, just let people know BEFORE they show up to check-in. There is no doubt in my mind that had another person in my party not had a cedit card to cover the room we would not have been able to stay there. The Skyline is a very fine hotel....The staff just needs to work on their attitude a little."
