"1. We were transfered to different location – not far but frustrating after long travel
2. No reception and difficult to find anybody to deal with, after 5pm only phone number at the door and nobody was answering phone, finally we found some guy who was taking care of this place
3. Apartment not renovated and dirty, toilet and sink was blocked, bath tub very used and dirty
4. Fridge was not cleaned in ages, freezing part was one big block of ice, we couldn’t close fridge doors because of it
5. Apartment equipped ok (tv, new furniture, at least bedclothes were clean) but overall dirt makes it unusable
Avoid"

"The hotel is right in Greenwich Village, so if that's an area you want to visit, it couldn't be better.
The building is old and there is no elevator. If you can't handle carrying your bags up four or five flights of stairs, this probably isn't the place for you unless you're guaranteed a first or second floor room. It is clean and about as well maintained as a building that age could be. You really get the experience of living in a small apartment in New York.
The kitchenette was very well equipped including cookware and dishes.
All in all it is an excellent place to stay for the price."

"My experience was an absolute horror story. I arrived and discoveed the building locked and had to walk with my luggage many blocks to an office on the second floor of a building where a key was provided for me. I walked back only to find that there was no elevator in this "hotel". I struggled up the stairs to my room and was surrounded by noisy people speaking an unknown language. I opened the door to a tiny room with an unmade bed with a sheet used as a window treatment. There was one exposed lightbulb in the bathroom in a fixture designed for 5 bulbs. A noise was emitting from behind the shower curtain could have been a dying animal. I didn't wait to find out. I wanted to call someone but my cell phone had died and there was no outlet in the room that worked. I couldn't get out of that hell hole fast enough. There is more to this disgusting story but I think you get the picture. I wouldn't send Osama bin Laden there."

"The location is perfect, but the standard sucks. We didn´t stay at Minetta, we were "upgraded" to 55 Morton st. So if that was to opgrade, I just can imagine what´s Minettas standard is."
