"Room very small, but quiet. The one small elevator required patience."

"This hotel was described as a "3" star hotel, and it most certainly
was not! It was so poor I did not stay one night, & expect to be
fully reinbursed! It was a third class hotel, & I deeply recented
the upset of starting my holiday with the stress of having to make
other arrangements at night, in the middle of "high" season.

"The Mayfair Hotel could not be in a better location! It is steps away from Broadway, Rockefeller Center and Times Square. The rooms are tiny but have everything you would need while visiting NYC. The staff is very helpful too. We would stay there again and again and highly recommend it!"

"Here were some of the problems:
- unrepaired holes in the ceiling were the last thing I saw each night
- dust and grime, so I couldn't put any of my clothes on the closet shelf or windowsill, although the sheets were clean and housekeeping took good care of the bathroom
- bad water pressure, but plenty of hot water
- clock/alarm clock didn't work
- barely enough room to turn around; internet picture made room look bigger than it was
- lumpy mattress; lumpy pillows
- no thermostat control - I was cold!
- the price of the room should have been at least $25 less per night, especially compared to similar hotels
However: the staff was very friendly and helpful at all times"

"The bathroom had some mildew. That is a turnoff. A little bleach does wonders. More care when the painters do touch-ups. Paint down the side of the mirror is sloppy work. Being able to get ice myself would have been much better than having to call the desk and wait and wait. Even a small room like mine is expensive and the details DO make a difference. Better quality sheets would be nice too. Paper thin is not my kind of sheet. And finally, I really hate thin pillows. They were great about giving me 2 extra ones. So you see there were some good things and some turnoffs that could be fixed with just a little more caring attention........"

"The rooms are very, very tiny, looks like a dorm room, plain white, no color or pictures to it. Shower didnt have hot water or any water pressure."

"Maid took expensive shampoo from room, front desk did nothing about it.
Hotel management was very reluctant to help with any special requests, even rude at times."

"The staff of the hotel was not helpful in the least to accomodate our needs. On the last day, we finally spoke to the owner of the property because we were so frustrated. He was then willing to accomodate us, but it was too little too late."
