"Room was a bit warm, too bad parking garage was not closer or a valet service of some kind available.
I have already recommended to friends and will return"

"The Excelsior is located across the street from the Museum of Natural History, a beautiful view out the window in a very nice Upper West Side Neighborhood and convenient to both the 8th Avenue and Broadway subway lines. The best thing about the neighborhood for a NYC visitor is that it is far enough from downtown to give you a little peace and quiet after a day among the teeming masses. The neighborhood also has a bounty of restaurants, boutiques and other amenities which make you feel like you're in a place where people live instead of being in the shopping district 24/7. You'd be surprised how nice it is to have this respite each day.

"Very nice Old World style boutique hotel. Fabulous location overlooking Central Pasrk and Natural Hisotry Museum. Easy access to subway and several restaurants nearby. No coffee maker in room---but there's a Starbucks a block away."

"breakfast is very expensive. no room service, no coffee maker. instead of useless fax machine, they could have placed a coffee maker. no refregerator. front desk is always busy. internet is very expensive (not well functioning), in-room fax is useless. but location is great and convenient. bed is comfortable."

"This was our 5th stay in the Excelsior and it has ben consistently wonderful. This is the hotel to stay in if you want the real city with little restaurants, great shops and markets, easy access to the park and great rooms with soft bedlinen which is a very big bonus!"
