"Our radiator was spraying water onto the radiator and the noise was unbelievable. I called the front desk and they sent a man up who said...."turn the radiator off and I will get you an extra blanket". The toilet ran off and on all night. There was no dresser in the room so we lived out of our suitcase. We were in 514. I complained to the front desk. She said that she would tell the manager and that she/he would call me........nothing. I will not stay in that hotel again. Can you blame me?

"I would not recommend this hotel when compared to several other small, boutique hotels within a few blocks of it. The furnishings and general state of our room were not as nice as other hotels in the same price range and area of town, many of which are run by the same group. Practically everything in our room was askew, from the lamp sconces to the photos on the wall to the walls themselves! The breakfast room was depressing and only one elevator was functioning, which meant waits were very long and the ride always crowded."

"The pictures on the website were very misleading as they led us to believe that the hotel was very contemporary, refurbished, clean, modern etc... Whilst the bar and reception areas were very nice, I was very dissappointed with the room, it was grubby and small, and the bathroom was tiny (a midget would have had a job to fit in the bath!!). In addition, the breakfast was dissappointing.
I will however say that the location was excellent and would be ideal for a very short stay on a tight budget, but personally I would not go back there, nor would I recommend it to anybody."

"Do not bother. In fact, run to any other hotel.
We had continual problems during our week's stay. No heat in very cold weather. Window wouldn't close. CD player in room would not work.
There is nowhere in the room to relax -- except the bed. The only two chairs are very hard, erect ones. We had six coat hangers and two very small drawers. Don't plan for two people to unpack, especially winter clothes!
We could NEVER assume we would have linens in the bathroom. One day there would be three hand towels and a bathmat. Next day, one used washcloth and no soap. This kind of thing went on the entire week. When the manager was contacted on the fourth day, he replied that the linens would get there "eventually" each day. Expect no service when the manager has this attitude.
Actually, though, the staff was quite pleasant, just inefficient and, obviously, instructed never to apologize for anything that was wrong.
Never once did anyone apologize for our inconvenience.
The Ameritania's good location cannot make up for all that is seriously wrong with this hotel."

"The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. However, the room (with a kingsize bed) was tiny. The bathroom was hardly large enough to turn around in, and I've never seen such a small lavatory. I couldn't wash my face without getting wet all over."

"The hotel does not have a place to buy toilettes. There is a 24 hour drug store several blocks away, but this is not ideal if you need an item after a late arrival. Or, the hotel could have a better supply of common supplies for travelers."
